Ha-Ha!
This is, of course, based on a blueprint from a Road Runner cartoon—the very first Road Runner cartoon, in fact: 1949’s Fast and Furry-ous. Also of course, I was inspired by Coyote vs. Acme, which I saw (of course!) on opening weekend. This movie gave me a lot of feelings. Yes, it punched me in the childhood—and in the special interest, because I’ve never stopped loving golden-age Warner Bros. animation—but it was much more than that. It’s so smart, so poignant, so perceptive. As I watched it, I felt as if it were somehow also watching me. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
